I was talking to my customer Molly from Georgia yesterday and she has a dog grooming business. She said that her business was growing and now it was time for her to get on Google. So you know, I think that a business should be thinking about Google from day one, but her question to me was how to get on Google.
I recommended she start with Google Analytics. For beginners, installing Google Analytics is one of a few ways that Google even knows that your site exists. More importantly however, it’s how you can tell the number of people visiting your website, where they came from, how they found you, what they are looking at, and how long they are looking.
This is super important for knowing how people are responding to your marketing message. If people don’t stay for even 10 seconds when they find your website, then you have a real problem with your message, and it causes a “high bounce-rate” which tells Google that you aren’t relevant for the search phrase that delivered the visitor to your site.
